Book week visitors today...

Today we had two visitors from Orchestra Wellington - who read 'The Violin Man' to us and then played some different pieces of music on the violin.

We were also lucky enough to have Kirsty Louden talk to us about her love of reading and then she shared some great books...

Kakapo visit the Petone Library

We were lucky to have a session with Jonathan from Petone Library on Tuesday. He remembered many of us from last year when Mrs McNeil took Pukeko to the Library each fortnight.

Buddy Class Reading

Here we are reading to our Kereru Buddies this afternoon in the Library.

Brilliant Bookweek has Begun!!

We launched into Bookweek today by listening to Jen Boland ( from The Settler's Museum)- share some great stories with us. We especially enjoyed 'Press Here'!

This afternoon we spent some time in the Library- reading with our Buddy Class (Kereru) for 20mins. Then we looked at the Bookfair books, browsed through the  'ideas for book character' books & chose a book each to read in class this week (& maybe at home too?)
Our Bookweek Homework = 60mins reading a day! Eg. 2x 30mins or 4x15mins. GET READING KAKAPO!!
