Owning our class...

As we have our own furniture - we are able to decorate it as we see fit. Today this involved painting some table legs and sanding our dining table - ready to varnish next week. Well done to Tonyano who us in charge of our dining table and also other students who all took charge with various painting/sanding tasks!

Prayer today

Joan prepared a great thought provoking prayer this morning. It involved a game that taught us that we were all equal - Joan also prepared scripture and other quotes to share with us!

Thanks Mrs Whalen, Anne and Mr Jago!

It was National Support Staff day on Wednesday - In Kākāpō we know that many people make our day at school better in a myriad of ways... Matthew, Cameron and Rachel put together these videos -
"A Day in the life of...." was our goal but we ran out of time and it was raining a bit too much to film Mr Jago doing all he does!

Brilliant Bookweek has Begun!!

We launched into Bookweek today by listening to Jen Boland ( from The Settler's Museum)- share some great stories with us. We especially enjoyed 'Press Here'!

This afternoon we spent some time in the Library- reading with our Buddy Class (Kereru) for 20mins. Then we looked at the Bookfair books, browsed through the  'ideas for book character' books & chose a book each to read in class this week (& maybe at home too?)
Our Bookweek Homework = 60mins reading a day! Eg. 2x 30mins or 4x15mins. GET READING KAKAPO!!
